Things to consider when attempting to repair your credit
It is illegal to create a new credit identity. There are many companies that will advise you to create a new credit file to improve your credit rating. They will try to convince you this is the right thing to do, especially if you have debt problems and want to find an easy way to take care of them.
The problem with creating a new credit file, or assuming a new credit identity, is that you are doing something that is illegal.
It is considered credit fraud in most cases and can get you into more trouble.
Assistance from a financial expert can definitely help.
By finding a credit repair service that can help you improve your credit score, you can reach your credit objectives. They can create a repayment plan to help you settle financial obligations and also allow you to pay your current bills without any financial hardship. They will also provide you with credit options and solutions. They will make sure that all of the decisions that you make will keep you from doing something illegal in the eyes of the state and federal government.
Many credit counseling firms will tell you that they can help you, but you need to consider who you will work with. By checking with the Better Business Bureau, you can learn about each company and decide whether or not they are right for you.
DIY credit strategies.
Many consumers are not aware that it is possible for you to fix your own credit. These do-it-yourself strategies are cost effective, and easy to accomplish. How do you do it?
There are many e-courses and kits that you can purchase online to help you start fixing your credit. By studying the materials, you will understand how your credit history can be repaired. Next, you will have to get copies of your annual credit reports from the three primary credit bureaus. You can order them online at www.annualcreditreport.com. Or contact Equifax, Experian and TransUnion to get your free copies.
Look at your report to find the items you need to fix. If there is information that seems fraudulent, write a credit dispute letter and send it to the Bureau that has the information on the report. They will do an investigation. If you have a valid claim, they will fix the problem and provide you with an updated credit report.
Always keep up with your payments.
Many people that have poor credit habits usually have low credit scores, which means they need to learn how to manage their credit the right way. It is important to settle any financial obligations that you have in full each and every month. Especially if you have been delinquent. Be sure to pay off your debts if you have the money. Once you do this, your credit score will improve and your creditworthiness will return to normal.

This was interesting. I just figured out how someone I know managed to rebuild his credit so quickly when I have been struggling for 5 years to do the same. He didn’t. Instead he created a new identity which would be easy in his case having to move anyway and just switching to his full name, which I know no one ever used to issue him a loan. I will put that in my mental vault in case I even need it as leverage.
As for myself I am doing it the right way. Now I have to apply for credit again and have my credit score close to where it is at least good enough for a lender to look at my application. What I need to know is, can I apply for my own credit report and use it in loan applications rather than have a half dozen lenders do a credit check and beat my credit score back down? I would expect them to verify my credit score before giving me the money, but just want to stop a flood of credit checks killing my again.
I would never have the nerve to create a new credit file, even if I knew how. But I found the legal advice to restoration of credit to be helpful, thank you.
Hi Jessy, Yes! you can apply for your own credit report from our providers. But many funding sources will need to pull their own credit report before they will issue any sort of credit. The credit reports you get as a consumer are a little bit different then the type a lender sees. Sometimes your score might be lower then what shows up on a consumer credit report. Generally its close enough that a lender can look it over and say yes or no based on this report you fit our credit guidelines. Hope that helps!

Shally!
Hello, thanks for visiting. You would be surprised at how many people try to set up a new credit file! Unfortunately for them, 1 small slip up will link their old file to their new file and their credit file will have a “hawk alert” on it telling potential lenders there are other aliases associated with that account. Talk about ways to make a lender wary of doing business with you! Just a bad idea all the way around!
